AFC Women’s Football Day in Bengaluru:

South United Football Club (SUFC) in Bengaluru fervently celebrated AFC Women’s Football Day at its Ulsoor facility on March 2nd, 2024, showcasing its dedication to fostering community spirit and empowering women in football. The event garnered an impressive turnout, with talented girls from the SUFC Academy leading the charge. Families and relatives of SUFC Academy players, along with women affiliated with Cult.Fit-Multifit Gym, Tagda Raho, and Maverick and Farmer Coffee, actively participated, championing the cause of promoting women’s health and wellness.

Prerana Dhawan, SUFC’s CMO & COO, expressed delight in contributing to AFC Women’s Football Day and reiterated the Club’s commitment to promoting gender equality and social inclusion. The aim was to create ample opportunities for women to excel not only in football but also in various aspects of life.

The celebration featured a myriad of engaging activities meticulously planned by SUFC coaches. From Football Tic Tac Toe to Flip the Marker, Football Golf to Tug of War, and even a 7-a-side football match pitting parents against their children, the day was filled with spirited competition. The enthusiastic participation exceeded expectations, highlighting the region’s growing interest and support for women’s football.

AFC Women’s Football Day in Pune:

SUFC in Pune marked AFC Women’s Football Day with a memorable celebration at the Ganga Legends Sports Complex in Bavdhan. The event, held on March 2nd, showcased SUFC’s commitment to women’s football and community engagement. Renowned Ultra Cyclist Mrs. Preeti Maske graced the occasion as Chief Guest, advocating for increased participation of young girls in sports.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from talented girls of the SUFC Academy, along with their families and relatives. Notably, members of the Ganga Legends Society and Mai Bal Bhavan, an NGO for the visually impaired, joined, promoting health and wellness among women.

The day featured eight engaging events meticulously planned by SUFC coaches, bringing girls and women of all ages together. These activities showcased the city’s talent and passion, reinforcing SUFC’s commitment to talent development and inclusivity.
